The SB 46 was introduced in April 2025 by the district of Kleve as the public transport authority as part of the public transport offensive to expand cross-border bus services. Aligned to the flight schedule of the airport in Weeze, it runs every two hours between the pilgrimage town of Kevelaer and Nijmegen. With additional boarding points at Weeze Airport and in Goch and Kranenburg, an attractive public transport connection has now been established for everyday and leisure travel.
Based on feedback from citizens, the district of Kleve has examined the inclusion of further stops and implemented them together with BVR Busverkehr Rheinland GmbH.
- From June 14, 2026, the SB 46 will stop at the "Rathaus" stop in the pilgrimage town of Kevelaer, providing a direct connection to the city center and creating a central transfer point.
- In Goch, the new "Stadtfriedhof" stop will provide a better connection to the southern part of the city.
- In addition, the "Maasstraße/GochNess" stop will provide the Goch district of Kessel with a direct connection to the Kleve district express bus network.
The new stops will be supplemented by further measures to make them more attractive to use. For example, the state road construction company of North Rhine-Westphalia (Straßen.NRW) has installed a safe crosswalk at the "B 504/Maasstraße" stop to improve accessibility. In addition, the city of Goch will install bicycle racks at this stop to make it easier to combine bicycles and buses.
The district of Kleve would like to thank all those involved and in particular the towns of Goch and the pilgrimage town of Kevelaer as well as the state road operator Straßen.NRW for their good and cooperative collaboration. The new timetable for the period from June 14, 2026 can be called up in the electronic timetable information after publication.
