Notes
Department 2.2 Building Regulations and Monument Protection is the Lower Building Supervisory Authority and the Lower Monument Protection Authority for the pilgrimage town of Kevelaer.
The Lower Building Supervisory Authority is responsible for reviewing and approving building applications, monitoring all building projects in the city, archiving building files, processing building encumbrances, handling objections and intervening with the building authorities. It monitors compliance with the numerous regulations and requirements of building law.
Competent advice from staff on all aspects of building is an important part of the department's remit, both in building supervision and in the preservation of historical monuments. Qualified preliminary coordination helps to avoid errors that would otherwise have to be corrected during the time-consuming building approval process or could lead to unpleasant demands for the dismantling of completed construction measures.
In its function as the Lower Monument Protection Authority, Department 2.2 Building Regulations and Monument Protection of the pilgrimage town of Kevelaer has the task of researching, protecting and preserving cultural monuments. All listed buildings are kept in a list of monuments. The tasks of monument preservation and monument protection are regulated in the Monument Protection Act. In addition to dealing with monument protection issues, the Lower Monument Protection Authority offers a specialist advisory service.
