We are looking for volunteers who would like to be trained as citizen solar advisors. To this end, we offer a free training course that enables participants to provide other citizens with comprehensive advice on photovoltaic systems and storage. The aim of the training is to set up a local group that organizes itself independently and on its own responsibility. Previous knowledge is useful, but not required.
The training will take place on four consecutive dates from June 20, 2026 as online workshops lasting several hours and will be offered by the non-profit association MetropolSolar.
Before the start of the actual training, there will be an online pre-info event on Tuesday, June 16, 2026 from 6:30 pm to 9 pm. This information event will give a good idea of what the participating advisors can expect. There will also be an opportunity to clarify any open questions before the start of the training. Interested parties can register for the pre-info event by e-mail to klimaschutz@kevelaer.de by June 15, 2026.
With BürgerSolarBeratung, the pilgrimage town of Kevelaer would like to offer even more support to owners of detached and semi-detached houses who are considering the decision to install a photovoltaic system. The advice is not intended to replace other services, but is an additional low-threshold offer.
