On the last day of the Kevelaerer Kirmes 2025, the traditional return of the festival chain took place - in a festive setting and with a lot of emotion. Christian Schick, this year's festival chain bearer, returned the chain together with his adjutant Heinz Litjens in the venerable meeting room of the Old Town Hall.
The club organizing the fair, the Kevelaerer SV 1890/1920 e.V., and numerous guests came to witness this special moment. The dedication of the festival chain bearer was honored with heartfelt and humorous speeches - including one from our mayor.
Even though Christian Schick delayed the return of the necklace for as long as possible, in the end he had to part with it with a heavy heart. With its return, it now goes back into the care of the city administration - until it is awarded again next year.
We would like to thank Christian Schick, his adjutant Heinz Litjens and the entire entourage for their great commitment. With their work, they have now become part of Kevelaer's fairground history.
