The pilgrimage town of Kevelaer is liable for damage caused by its employees breaching their official duties or by municipal facilities not being adequately secured against danger to the public.
Claims are received by the "Central Services" department and forwarded to GVV Kommunalversicherung after the facts have been investigated. This is also where a decision is made on possible claims settlement. Please use the online form for this purpose.

If you wish to report damage you have suffered, you can submit such a report informally in writing or you can come by and we will record your damage report. In any case, you should enclose or bring along all documents (any photos, sketches, invoice receipts, etc.).
Provided you report the damage in writing,
- state your first and last name, your address and your telephone number in case of queries;
- state the date and time of the damage and the exact location of the damage;
- Describe the cause of the damage;
- Police accident report or accident report, if applicable;
- If necessary, name witnesses who observed the incident;
- Describe the extent of the damage and document it with photos.
You also have the option of submitting your claim online using the attached form. With online claims reporting, you have the option of uploading documents (e.g. photos, sketches, invoice receipts).
