On November 25, 2026, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women and Girls, the pilgrimage town of Kevelaer will once again participate in UN Women’s global “Orange the World” campaign. This day of action is also known as “Orange Day.” From November 25 through December 10, the color orange draws attention to violence against women and girls. It also symbolizes hope for a future free of violence. Kevelaer will also send a visible message: In addition to raising the flag against violence against women, the concert and theater hall will be illuminated in orange for several days starting November 25.
The Equal Opportunity Officer for the pilgrimage town of Kevelaer is also calling on clubs, businesses, institutions, and individuals to participate in the campaign. Whether it’s buildings lit up in orange, decorated windows, or creative activities: Every visible sign draws attention to the issue and makes it clear that violence against women and girls has no place in society.
