Your practice-integrated training
to become a nursery school teacher (m/f/d)
Location: municipal daycare center "Spatzennest am Keysershof"
In this three-year apprenticeship, we will make you fit in theory and practice!
The new training form of practice-integrated training (PiA) lasts three years and leads to a qualification as a state-recognized educator (m/f/d). It is carried out jointly by the practice location (Spatzennest daycare center) and the cooperating technical school (e.g. Liebfrauenschule Geldern). The knowledge, skills and abilities taught at school can be tested directly in practice. Questions and problems that arise in practice enliven and expand the lessons at school.
The training lasts a total of 39 hours per week. Of these, you work 19 hours in the municipal daycare center and 20 hours at school. day care center and 20 hours at school.
Learning fields are e.g:
- Develop professional identity and professional perspectives
- Shaping pedagogical relationships and working pedagogically with groups
- Perceiving and understanding living environments and diversity and promoting inclusion
- professionally design socio-pedagogical educational work in the educational areas
- Shaping educational partnerships with parents and caregivers and supporting transitions
- Developing institutions and teams and cooperating with networks
In order to gain an insight into a further practical field, a six-week internship is completed in another institution in the second year of training.
We are looking for people who are eager to learn, committed, communicate positively and are open to new ideas. We expect:
- Fachoberschulreife and completed relevant vocational training of at least two years' duration (e.g. childcare worker) or Fachhochschulreife, general higher education entrance qualification and relevant professional experience of at least 900 hours in a relevant institution
- Police clearance certificate (will be requested if you intend to be hired)
- School place (confirmation of enrollment should be enclosed with the application documents)
- High motivation, willingness to perform and learn
- Sense of responsibility
- Empathy and ability to deal with conflict
- Communication and teamwork skills
- Observation accuracy

The pilgrimage town of Kevelaer regularly trains one apprentice (m/f/d) in this trade.
