Swimming courses in the indoor pool

  • Service description

Learn to swim in the Kevelaer indoor pool!

For many years now, municipal employees have been offering swimming courses in the indoor pool. These courses are always very popular. By teaching the course content in a child-friendly way, the aim is to introduce children to their first swimming movements and to help them achieve the "seahorse" goal during the course.

The swimming courses in the indoor pool are also intended to help reduce the increasing number of non-swimmers and provide good basic training in swimming from an early age. The aim is to teach and promote fun in the water.

    Swimming course dates:
Course duration: 18 exercise units in a 6-week period
    Target price: Swimming badge "Seahorse"
Course fee: 150,00 € (please note the "Registration conditions and further information")
    Course times:

    Monday, Wednesday and Friday

In each case from 17:00 to 18:00 or 18:00 to 19:00 (times incl. changing)

The first lesson takes place on a Saturday by arrangement.

    Number of participants per course:

Up to 20 participants per course

(further information under "Participants per course")

    Minimum age: 5 years
Registration: You can register for the swimming course online here or at the indoor swimming pool in Kevelaer.
    IMPORTANT:
Due to the unfortunately very long closure of the pool in connection with the Corona pandemic, there is a relatively extensive waiting list, which is processed according to the registration date and age of the child, among other things. It is advisable to register children early (before they reach the minimum age) so that they are included in the waiting list.
    Follow-up swimming course:
If the "seahorse" course goal has not yet been achieved after the basic course, a follow-up swimming course will be offered soon afterwards. A total of 10 training units are offered in 3.5 weeks. The course fee is € 100.00. Shortly before the end of the basic course, participation will be arranged by the municipal staff.

The swimming courses take place parallel to the public family pool in the non-swimmer area of the indoor pool. The courses are led by municipal employees and are supported by assistants from the swimming organizations.

Due to the high demand and need for swimming courses, there is regularly a waiting time before participation. Early application and registration, even before reaching the minimum age, is therefore recommended. The registration form listed under "Forms" can be completed and handed in at the indoor pool or sent to the contact person named.

The exact start of the course will be communicated in advance by telephone.

    Course goal Swimming badge "Seahorse":

    • Knowledge of bathing rules
    • Dive from the edge of the pool followed by a 25 m swim in one swimming style on the stomach or back

    participants per course:

In principle, up to 20 children should be taught per course.

If the desired course times are already fully booked, a note will first be made on the waiting list. As soon as participation in the course is possible, you will be informed by e-mail, telephone or post.

The house and bathing rules for the Kevelaer indoor swimming pool apply.

The instructions of the course management and supervisory staff must always be followed.
