Department 5.3 "Schools and Sport" ensures that the framework for school education is right. The department is responsible for school development planning, the construction of schools and the maintenance and management of school buildings.
The department is also responsible for furnishing the schools and procuring the resources for teaching and learning. Other tasks include childcare services at the schools, school social work and the billing of student transportation costs.
The main tasks of the "Sport" department are the promotion and support of sport in all areas. The department is responsible for Kevelaer's sports facilities. It plans, maintains and operates the sports halls in cooperation with the building management department. The "Sport" department coordinates the booking requests for the sports facilities, the indoor pool and the outdoor pool.
