The annual spring cleaning of the graduation house in the St. Jakob brine garden is on the agenda again. From Monday, 23 March to Wednesday, 25 March, employees of Stadtwerke Kevelaer will be thoroughly cleaning the 12-metre-high, shell-shaped structure with a diameter of around 25 meters.
During the work, the graduation house can unfortunately only be used to a limited extent. The inside of the building will have to be completely closed at times.
However, the valuable Kevelaer thermal brine is retained: It is collected during the cleaning process, stored temporarily and then reintroduced into the graduation house cycle.
Once the work has been completed, the graduation house will be open to visitors again as usual. The salty air in the St. Jakob brine garden can then be enjoyed again without restriction.
