Third-party parking violation

  • Service description

In addition to the detection of traffic offenses by officers of the regulatory authority, private individuals can also report stopping and parking violations to the fines office. The report must be sufficiently documented so that there is no doubt as to the legality of the warning to be issued. In any subsequent legal proceedings, the ability to prove the traffic offense is of considerable importance.

To create a third-party report, please use the online service "Reporting a traffic offense in stationary traffic".

  • Legal basis

    • Road Traffic Regulations (StVO)
    • Administrative Offenses Act (OWiG)
    • General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
  • What else should I know?

In order to process your notification, we need as accurate information as possible:

    • Date and time of the violation

    • Location (street, house number or exact location description)

    • License plate number of the vehicle

    • Vehicle type and color (if possible)

    • Description of the parking violation (e.g. "on sidewalk", "in driveway", "in front of lowered curb")

    • Photo(s) as proof (voluntary, but helpful)

    • Your contact details (name, address, e-mail address)

    Note:
Anonymous reports cannot be processed as official reports, as a witness statement may be required in the fine proceedings.

    Data protection notice

Your personal data will only be used to process the complaint. If proceedings are initiated, the person concerned may be given access to the case file - this may reveal your name as a witness.
