Apply for an exemption permit for parking as a tradesman
Service description
If you regularly carry out construction, repair and assembly work outside your own premises with your craft business or other service company and need to use special service or workshop vehicles for this purpose or transport heavy and extensive material, you can obtain an exemption permit for parking throughout North Rhine-Westphalia.
Craft businesses listed in Annex A or B of the Crafts Code and other businesses that carry out comparable work are eligible to apply.
Company vehicles must have clearly legible fixed company lettering on both sides of the vehicle.
The permit only applies to the execution of the trade insofar and as long as no other suitable parking facility exists and therefore does not apply to parking at the company headquarters, at the branch office and in its vicinity.
Please note the exact content of the exemption permit. When using the exemption permit, other persons must not be endangered or hindered.

Required documents
- informal application (in person, in writing or by email)
- Copy of the business registration or business re-registration
- Copy of the current confirmation of registration with the Chamber of Skilled Crafts or the skilled crafts card (front and back). If no registration with the Chamber of Skilled Crafts is required (other businesses), written details of the skilled trade activities carried out or for which the use of a workshop or service vehicle is required.

- Photos of the vehicle from the sides and with the tailgate open
Prerequisite
The competent authority examines the application for a parking permit. There is no entitlement on the part of the applicant.
What fees apply?
100,00 € for one year
Note: If more than one parking permit is applied for at the same time, the fees are reduced to €50.00 from the second parking permit onwards.
