Notarizations
Service description
The following documents can be issued by the "Assistance" department:
- Recognition of paternity and the necessary consents
- Declarations on joint custody
- Obligation to pay maintenance for children (so-called youth welfare office certificate)
Documents establishing paternity can also be recorded at the registry office.
These deeds can also be drawn up by a notary of your choice for a fee.
The following documents must always be brought to a notarization:
- valid identity card or passport
- Correspondence in which you were requested to provide a notarization
Additional documents may also be required.

Please make an appointment in advance by telephone both for a consultation and for notarization. Only then can it be guaranteed that there will be no unnecessary waiting times.
Costs
All notarizations are free of charge.

We would like to take enough time for your request. Please make an appointment for the notarization in advance by telephone or email. During the necessary briefing, you will be informed about the legal significance of the notarization and your questions will be answered.
For citizens who are not sufficiently proficient in German, an interpreter must be called in for the notarization.
