Foster care service
Service description
Sometimes there are children and young people who can no longer live with their family (of origin), either temporarily or permanently. There can be various reasons for this. These children and young people then need a "new" family in which they can experience safety, security and love.
The foster care service works with all parties involved to find a suitable foster family and supports both the children, young people and parents, as well as the foster family during the "transition" (from the family of origin to the "new" family).
The foster child service of the pilgrimage town of Kevelaer has the following tasks:
- Recruitment and selection of foster families
- Placement of children in foster families
- Intensive care for children who are placed in foster families
- Training and advice for foster parents
The foster children's service is looking for couples or individuals who can imagine taking in a child or young person and providing them with security, stability and reliable relationships. The prerequisites that such people should bring with them are enjoyment of living together, experience in dealing with children and young people, resilience, empathy and an understanding of the children's and young people's respective backgrounds. The foster parents are constantly accompanied, supported and advised by the employees of the foster children's service.
For all those who feel addressed and whose interest in this certainly responsible, but also interesting task has been aroused, the foster children's service offers the opportunity to receive non-binding advice regarding the tasks as a potential foster parent. It would be desirable to make an appointment by telephone.
