Youth welfare planning
Service description
The aim of youth welfare planning is to coordinate all youth welfare services as closely as possible. To this end, the wishes and interests of children, young people and families should be taken into account. In order to achieve this, the youth welfare office works in various planning groups with independent youth welfare organizations, institutions, services and authorities (day care facilities, schools, youth leisure facilities, school authorities, urban development, etc.). This enables them to contribute their respective perspectives and practical experience to the planning process.
Youth welfare planning is to be understood as a continuous task, an ongoing process that constantly checks for the local planning area (Kevelaer) whether the existing youth welfare services are sufficient and are still appropriate for the time and needs or whether they need to be abandoned, changed or updated (this also applies, for example, to the planning of child daycare places, youth leisure facilities and playgrounds).
In addition to longer-term joint planning, this also helps to strengthen cooperation between all the institutions involved.
Legal basis
In accordance with Section 80 of the German Social Code (SGB) Eighth Book (VIII), youth welfare planning is a political process. Special attention is paid to Sections 1, 78, 79, 79a and 81 SGB VIII.
