Information on registering a marriage for foreign couples in the Federal Republic of Germany:
Contact your local registry office in good time and enquire about the certificates and documents you will need to register your marriage. Once you have registered your marriage, you can get married at any registry office in the Federal Republic of Germany. Your local registry office will then send the documents to the marriage registry office.Information for married couples living abroad:
If you cannot prove that you have a registered place of residence in Germany, you can register your marriage directly at the registry office in Germany where you intend to get married. Contact the registry office in good time to provide the necessary certificates and documents.
