The commercial department is responsible for accounting and internal organizational matters. In addition, the operations manager is supported in his tasks. This applies in particular to the political committees and shareholders' meetings in which the municipal utilities are involved.

The commercial department is rarely noticed from the outside. This usually only occurs when customers have questions about bills that do not relate to consumption billing.

In addition to recording all business transactions, accounting also includes the planning, management and control of operational activities.
