Stadtwerke Kevelaer's drinking water fountains on Kapellenplatz and in the St. Jakob brine garden are back from their winter break. After thorough cleaning and successful water testing, the popular refreshment points are once again available to all citizens and guests. With a quick press of a button, fresh Kevelaer drinking water flows - ideal for direct consumption or for filling into a bottle you have brought with you. The robust yet attractive fountains made of granite and stainless steel are barrier-free and, with a tap height of around one meter, are also convenient for children to use. "Our fountains work in a particularly resource-friendly way: water is only dispensed when needed, and automatic flushing also ensures perfect quality," explains Anna-Christina Walter, Head of the Technical Department at Stadtwerke Kevelaer.
To avoid frost damage in winter, the systems are taken out of operation during the cold season and carefully maintained. By putting them back into operation, Stadtwerke Kevelaer is making an important contribution to the sustainable supply of drinking water. They also support the "Refill" initiative and offer free refills with fresh tap water in their office building at the water tower (Kroatenstraße 125).
