Colorful flower beds thanks to the "Kevelaer blossoms" campaign

The pilgrimage town of Kevelaer shines in new splendor thanks to the long-standing "Kevelaer blossoms" initiative. The collaboration between local horticultural businesses, the depot and Kevelaer Marketing ensures that the flower beds are in full bloom in spring and fall. This spring, the campaign is being supported by the Janßen Group, Eurofleurs Elbers, DA FLORA KG, Topfpflanzen Hannen and EPS GmbH.

This year's planting involves an innovation, as there is a new maintenance concept that takes ecological aspects, the tight financial situation of the municipal budget and the maintenance effort into account. Therefore, in addition to the traditional spring flowers, perennials will also be planted that will remain in the beds all year round. These perennials not only offer a sustainable solution for planting, but also help to enrich the beds with color and life throughout the season. Perennials are low maintenance and known for their hardiness, making them an ideal choice for urban planting. Silke Schacht from Eurofleurs Elbers, Nils Schöneis from EPS GmbH and Hubert and Raphael Janßen from the Janßen Group were on hand to advise the team of gardeners from the municipal depot. "The 'Kevelaer blossoms' campaign is a great example of how community involvement can beautify the cityscape," explains City Manager Tobias Nelke.
