The pilgrimage town of Kevelaer continues to expand its defibrillator network - with strong support from Sparkasse Rhein-Maas. Thanks to their full funding, three more meeting places have been equipped with automated external defibrillators (AED): the IBC Twisteden, the Knoase Saal Wetten and the community room in Kervenheim Castle.
The devices were handed over on May 22 at IBC Twisteden. Thomas Müller, Member of the Board of Sparkasse Rhein-Maas, officially handed over the life-saving devices to Mayor Dr. Dominik Pichler and the operator associations. Those present were then instructed on how to use the AEDs so that they can act quickly in an emergency.
With this donation, the city's defibrillator network will grow to 27 locations. The aim is to ensure comprehensive provision of life-saving first aid throughout Kevelaer.
"The Sparkasse's support is an active contribution to safety in our region," emphasizes Thomas Müller. Mayor Dr. Pichler is also grateful: "We hope we never have to use the devices - but they can save lives in an emergency."
The new AEDs will be added to the central directory of the Kleve district. In the event of an emergency, the nearest location can be quickly determined via the emergency number 112.
